"Technology addiction is a social problem"
Guillem is managing to turn what was once his worst enemy, new technologies, into an option for his future. Maintaining a healthy relationship with electronic devices and the internet is part of his recovery.
Guillem is one of the protagonists of the documentary series #YoCambioTodo (I Change Everything), an initiative by Solidaridad Sant Joan de Déu . It's a project for young people that speaks frankly about vulnerability, celebrates diversity, and encourages participants to get involved in making a difference.
Warning signs of video game addiction
Guillem realized he had a problem with technology addiction when he counted the hours he spent in front of the computer. This situation stemmed from episodes of bullying at school that led him to isolate himself socially.
"For me, addiction to video games or the internet is a social problem because it always, or almost always, stems from school bullying and social isolation."
