Montserrat Escuté Amat, a nurse and assistant to the Nursing Directorate of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, shares her vision on what aspects need further investment to guarantee equal opportunities, recovery and inclusion for people with mental health disorders.
For Escuté, it is essential to "continue betting on and investing in promotion, prevention and early education in both health and social matters, to end stigma and discrimination and to continue creating communication strategies in which the first person is the protagonist."

This need to consider mental health as an essential element in our lives has become especially prominent in recent times, with the arrival of the COVID-19 health, economic, and social crisis. "The uncertainties surrounding this crisis cause worries, anxieties, and fears among the population," the nurse adds, "which is why we must convey the message that mental health is everyone's responsibility."
