Informe de Resultados. El Estigma en la población española. Salud mental, sin hogar y discapacidad intelectual
The report presents the results of the first national survey on stigma in Spain towards people with mental health problems, homelessness, and intellectual disabilities, highlighting that almost half the population displays stigmatizing attitudes towards these groups . It demonstrates how language, the media, and a lack of direct contact perpetuate prejudice and discrimination, while personal knowledge and interaction with affected individuals significantly reduce stigma. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of incorporating a gender perspective and proposes recommendations for action, such as educational campaigns, legislative reforms, and participatory intervention programs that promote a more inclusive and stigma-free society.
