Guía de prevención de los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria y el sobrepeso

The aim of this guide is to develop educational strategies that, directed at the school and family environment, encourage adolescents to adopt appropriate eating behavior patterns, accept a healthy body image model and, ultimately, prevent the onset of eating disorders.

The document aims to train and educate teachers and educators so they can become key players in preventative action. It provides methodologies for developing these strategies and for achieving a level of understanding and knowledge about the factors and mechanisms that contribute to the origin and maintenance of eating disorders.

It includes frequently asked questions, the objectives, target audience, and requirements of the prevention program, how to begin working with and evaluate the program through different sessions on: healthy eating, nutrition, and exercise; body image, sexuality, and critique of the aesthetic ideal; self-concept and self-esteem; assertiveness and social skills; post-program measures; and evaluation and work with the family. It includes questionnaires and scales.
