Derechos Humanos y Discapacidad. Informe España 2024

This report analyzes the situation of people with disabilities in Spain in relation to the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It addresses the recent reform of Article 49 of the Spanish Constitution, which strengthens the protection of the rights of this group. The document examines violations and progress in the implementation of the Convention, with particular emphasis on the rights of women and girls with disabilities, accessibility, personal autonomy, and social inclusion. It also presents complaints regarding discrimination, lack of access to services, and barriers to the exercise of fundamental rights, along with proposals for legislative and policy improvements, such as the implementation of the European Disability Card and the regulation of inclusive digital consumption. It concludes by highlighting achievements in 2023 and the remaining challenges to guaranteeing equality and non-discrimination.
