This story is designed for children who, having suffered abuse or violence, have to face legal proceedings. Going through the justice system can be a profoundly stressful experience for them. Furthermore, the child will often have to explain what happened repeatedly to different professionals (police officers, psychologists, doctors, judges, prosecutors), who will ask the same, or very similar, questions about an experience that likely still evokes negative emotions.

The support of a professional who advises and accompanies the child, explaining each step and addressing their concerns or worries, is fundamental to their well-being.

This story can serve as a preparation tool. It contains a simple description of the legal process, adapted to children's language, as well as an introduction to the main figures the child will encounter along the way.
