Pica
What is PICA?
Pica is an eating disorder characterized by the ingestion of non-nutritive substances such as sand or plaster. The specific substance ingested tends to vary with age, and younger children may eat paint, plaster, string, hair, or clothing. The disorder is more common in childhood and, in some cases, occurs in children with autism or intellectual disabilities.
