The treatment of eating disorders is multidisciplinary and can be carried out at different levels of care and with various resources (outpatient, day hospital, and inpatient). Generally speaking, it is important to promote awareness of the illness among those affected (problem awareness), motivate them to adhere to treatment, and establish a good therapeutic relationship or alliance.
