Some discriminatory practices in healthcare include:

• A care based on the expectation that people with mental health disorders are unstable, incapable of leading a normal life, and will not recover.
• Referral of the person to other professionals (rejection).
• Use of discriminatory expressions.
• Underdiagnosis, influenced by certain stereotypes linked to mental health.
• Intrusion: exerting pressure on the regulation of different aspects of the lives of the people being cared for.
• Overprotection or control.
• Exclusion in decision-making.
• Coercion, pressure exerted on a person to make them act according to the wishes or will of the first.
