Asperger's Syndrome

What is the difference between autism and Asperger's syndrome?

Currently, according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), both disorders are included within the autism spectrum disorder . Both autism and Asperger's syndrome are characterized by impairments in social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and activities. However, individuals with Asperger's syndrome do not exhibit a general delay in language development or a significant delay in cognitive development.
