What are QualityRights?
In accordance with the New York Convention , the World Health Organization (WHO) has developed a set of tools that encourage, guide, and support governments and organizations worldwide to assess and improve the quality of their healthcare services, always from a human rights perspective. These materials are known as QualityRights and provide training, awareness-raising, and guidance for:
- Transforming mental health services towards a holistic care model that respects diversity, is based on human rights and the social inclusion of people.
- Breaking down the stigma and discrimination experienced by people with mental health problems.
QualityRights also includes training for everyone to learn how to care for their own mental health, support family and friends with their mental health, and break down stigma, discrimination, and abuse. It is estimated that for every person trained, there is a positive impact on more than one hundred people with mental health problems.
