- Reduce pain or increase coping skills:

  • Get involved in mental health treatment, especially for alcohol and drug abuse.

- Increase hope:

  • To have religious beliefs and practices .
  • Trust in the recovery from illnesses.

- Improve bonding and the sense of belonging:

  • Increase social skills.
  • Having confidence in oneself.
  • Having children.
  • Having family and social support.
