Eating disorder

Is it true that people with anorexia or bulimia can see themselves as fatter when they look in the mirror?

People with anorexia or bulimia have a distorted perception of their bodies: they don't see themselves as they truly are. This perception is linked to obsessive and emotional factors, such as body dissatisfaction and fear of gaining weight.

On the one hand, they may overestimate their body size, and on the other, they may see themselves as thin and fail to recognize the severity of their condition. The fact that a person doesn't see themselves as thin does not rule out the possibility that they have the disorder.
