Diagnosis
Is it normal that my three-year-old son doesn't speak? Will he start talking later?
It is expected that a child will be able to form some simple sentences and use around fifty words by the age of two. However, there can be a delay in language acquisition. A three-year-old child not speaking is considered a warning sign that should be addressed . We can contact early intervention centers for guidance on this difficulty and to begin speech therapy. Whether or not the child ultimately develops a full level of language will depend on personal factors (cognitive profile, comorbidities, genetic factors, etc.) and the environment.
