Eating disorder

How should teachers communicate with a person who has an eating disorder?

From the educational institution, it is important to respect the privacy of individuals with an eating disorder. During a highly sensitive time, such as when they become aware of their illness or begin treatment, special care must be taken to avoid judgment or judgment. Comments about their physical or emotional progress, even if socially considered "positive," can hurt their feelings or have a negative impact. Similarly, asking questions about their treatment and condition can be very uncomfortable, as it is a very personal matter, possibly undertaken in a state of ambivalence or against their will.

The best thing to do is to tell the person in question where and when they can find you at the school if they need to talk to you, and outside of this space, treat the person naturally like the rest of the class group.
