Pharmacological treatment
How long does antidepressant treatment last?
The duration of treatment should be determined by a professional, based on each person's clinical condition. Generally, clinical guidelines recommend maintaining the medication regimen for a minimum of four to six months after improvement, in the case of a first episode. In the case of two or more depressive episodes, treatment is indicated for a period of two years.
