How to inform parents from the school?

In general, it's advisable to make a commitment to the student that their self-harm problem will not be disclosed to anyone, but it's also essential to have the support of the rest of the crisis team, the parents, and perhaps the intervention of a mental health professional. Therefore, the student should be encouraged to contact their parents themselves and explain the problem.

One option is to arrange a meeting with the parents and the student to discuss the problem. At this meeting, it can be helpful to provide information about available mental health resources, as well as websites where they can find information about self-harm.
