Elderly people
How does psychosis evolve as the person ages?
The evolution of people with psychosis as they grow older is characterized by a decrease in positive symptomatology, which causes less interference in their daily lives. On the other hand, there is a greater presence of negative symptoms (affective flattening, disconnection from the environment, etc.), affective and depressive symptoms. There is also an increase in health problems compared to the general population, that is, there is a greater prevalence of neurological, cardiovascular or respiratory diseases.
