How can students with ADHD be helped at school?
When a student is diagnosed with ADHD, the education system provides a series of school adaptations to enable them to access the curriculum. These adaptations allow students to progress in their learning at all educational levels, despite the difficulties arising from the disorder.
These adaptations include, for example, allowing more time for exams or assignments, seating the student near the board or in a space with few distractions, monitoring their schedule, offering the option of oral exams, etc. These are adaptations of the methodology or formats used in teaching, but the curriculum content remains unchanged.
