Does using your mobile phone, computer, or game console before going to sleep affect your sleep?

Using these devices before bed can lead to poor sleep. On the one hand, the blue light emitted by screens delays the release of melatonin, one of the hormones responsible for regulating sleep, and can increase alertness. On the other hand, it can also cause you to go to bed later than you should and to wake up thinking about what you saw last night. Therefore, using screens in the two hours before bedtime negatively impacts sleep.
