Psychosis
Does a psychotic episode appear suddenly?
Psychotic episodes rarely come on suddenly. A psychotic episode is usually preceded by gradual, nonspecific changes in a person's thoughts, perceptions, behaviors, and functioning. The first phase is known as the prodromal phase, in which the person begins to experience changes in themselves but has not yet begun to have clear psychotic symptoms.
