How to live with...
Do all people with ASD have sleep problems?
People with autism spectrum disorder tend to have more sleep problems . This can be due to several reasons: rigid routines can make their bedtimes and wake-up times less conducive to rest; their hypersensitivity can cause them to wake up to noises or certain textures in their pajamas and sheets; and, of course, we cannot rule out anxiety. In addition, in some cases, the coexistence of neurological problems such as epilepsy is a contributing factor.
We need to know the cause of this poor sleep, but it will be very helpful to have a dark, quiet and warm room and to have an active daily routine and a repetitive nighttime routine with little stimulation that promotes relaxation and sleep.
