Psychosis

Can stress cause psychosis?

Stress is a risk factor for psychosis, just as it is for many other mental illnesses. However, it is not a causative factor for psychosis. If this stress is continuous and causes you emotional discomfort (anxiety, low mood, strange thoughts, etc.) it can put your mental health at risk, so seek help to manage it in the best possible way and prevent physical and mental health problems.
