Can research improve the quality of life for people with psychosis?
Mental health research is a shared need among professionals, patients, and their families. Research is key to advancing our understanding of different mental disorders and, consequently, preventing their onset and improving treatments and interventions, thereby enhancing people's quality of life.
Psychotic disorders affect 1.2% of the adult population and 0.8% of the child population. Early detection and treatment in the initial stages are essential for a successful recovery. Learning more about psychosis helps us prevent it, but also improves the lives of people who have this mental health condition.
