Are we, the relatives, to blame?
Sometimes some families feel guilty if a son or daughter develops a psychotic disorder and analyze "if that hadn't happened to them...", "if they hadn't acted like that...", "if this relative didn't have a psychotic disorder...". None of these situations influence the development of the disease as the sole cause. It is very important to overcome this feeling of guilt to be able to help the affected person as needed.
