Currently, Asperger's syndrome is classified as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1. The challenges faced by individuals with Asperger's will vary depending on their strengths, areas of difficulty, support needs, and any co-occurring conditions. Some individuals with ASD Level 1 are fully functional and require minimal support, but everyday situations arising from social interactions or work activities can often present a significant challenge, even if they possess excellent intellectual abilities.

Being aware that you have a problem can help you understand certain situations, but it can also increase the frustration you may feel at times. In other words, "being fully functional" or the common "you don't seem to have any problems or autism," etc., doesn't prevent you from encountering moments that are difficult to manage.
