Social media can be a tool for the spread of self-harm. We know that there are pages and videos on social media that discuss self-harm. This makes it very likely that most young people are aware of what it is. However, social media also presents an opportunity to help young people who self-harm or are at risk of doing so. There are some websites with reliable information about self-harm, such as answers.cat. Exploring them could be helpful. Talking about it openly could also be beneficial.
