The keys to homelessness

A look at its causes and solutions

Homelessness is a phenomenon of which only the tip of the iceberg is known, and about which society has created myths and prejudices regarding those affected. But what do we really know about homelessness?

People living on the streets are only the most visible part of this phenomenon, but there is a whole hidden homelessness affecting people at risk of social exclusion. Homelessness, in all its forms, has a profound impact on people's physical and mental health and makes it very difficult to develop a life plan.

Homelessness is not new, but it continues to rise. We know that eradicating this phenomenon and working towards the recovery of these individuals are achievable goals if a concerted effort is made.   a firm commitment to social and housing policies and to migrant reception.

A Catalan law for the rights of homeless people

On January 25, 2022, the proposed law on urgent and transitional measures to address and eradicate homelessness was officially submitted to the Parliament of Catalonia, with the support of most political parties represented. This law fundamentally changes the approach to homelessness in Catalonia by recognizing a series of basic rights for people experiencing homelessness, thus shaping public policies for the coming years.

Programa Primer la llar
A new life, a new hope

There is no better way to learn about the benefits of a Housing First project than by seeing and hearing the firsthand experiences of both the people who participate in the program and the technical people who accompany them in the process.

This is the objective of the video series about Primer la llar , a documentary diary of the municipal pilot project to implement a new model of intervention with the homeless people of Barcelona.
