Tot ok?, an online resource to report and respond to situations of child violence
The Generalitat de Catalunya has launched a new service to make it easier for citizens to report any situation of child violence. This is the Tot ok? platform, which includes a WhatsApp channel (677 484 322) and a chat , to make it easier for children and adolescents to report any situation of mistreatment or abuse towards them.
Tot ok? is an extension of the Infància Respon telephone number (116111) and arises precisely after verifying that only 7% of the more than 11,000 calls received in 2024 were made by minors. Thus, this new resource aims to make it easier for children and adolescents to break their silence and report situations, through two channels with which they are more familiar.
In addition to detecting risk situations and being able to guide children and adolescents who are suffering from some kind of violence, the website also offers information for professionals and citizens on how to detect and report these situations, and also includes a space for anonymous consultations, with the option of leaving the data of the affected person. And it is structured into five different spaces, according to the age and profile of the person: children, adolescents, young people, professionals in the field of childhood and family or citizens.
Free and confidential service 24 hours a day
This is a public, confidential and free service , which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Behind it is the same team that answers the calls of the Infància Respon telephone line, made up of professional psychologists, social educators, social workers and pedagogues. Furthermore, in the face of a situation of violence against children and adolescents, the General Directorate for Child and Adolescent Care (DGAIA) initiates the activation of the necessary protocols and mobilizes the team that is responsible for acting, depending on the type of case.
The Infància Respon telephone line began operating in 1997 as a resource for the detection, prevention, protection and well-being of children and adolescents, and addresses various problems, such as physical and psychological abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, bullying and cyberbullying, and mental health problems, among others.
