Active and healthy aging
Promoting the health, safety, and community participation of older adults
By 2050, 25% of the population will be over 65. We face the challenge of increasingly aging societies with longer life expectancies. Yes, we are living longer, but are we aging with the best possible quality of life? To achieve this, we must guarantee access to active and healthy aging, which, as the World Health Organization points out, is based on developing and maintaining functional capacity and well-being during this stage of life that we will all experience. This involves disease prevention, promoting an active lifestyle, and creating age-friendly environments that foster autonomy, active participation in society, and the ability to manage one's own health.
