'Storytellers of Lives', a documentary about mental health in rural areas
Eva, Clara, Adela, Maribel, Alba, Lurdes and Mercè are the protagonists of "Life Storytellers" , a documentary produced by the Spanish Mental Health Confederation , with funding from the Royal Board on Disability, within the framework of the project HUB Genera Faenando futuro , which seeks to promote entrepreneurship networks with women from rural areas who have mental health problems.
The stories of these women speak of living with a mental health disorder , of clinical malpractice and violation of rights, of stigma and the influence of the environment, but also of empowerment, of the need to express themselves through art and words, of the need for others, of mutual support and of activism as the only way to address mental health collectively, with the community as an essential support.
Hub Genera: Women and Employment in Rural Areas
Hub Genera, Faenando futuro is a program focused on revitalization and innovation, exploring and promoting new ways to create employment for rural women with mental health challenges in the care and local service sectors. This initiative supports various actions, including training programs related to entrepreneurship and social innovation for job creation, as well as awareness campaigns such as this documentary and the podcast series Relatoras de Futuros (Future Storytellers).
